Job description
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, desire for continuous improvement, and knowledge of best practices in the field of quality. This individual will work as part of a fast paced, demanding, highly cross functional team. The position will involve using creativity, engineering principles & statistical methods to assure and improve product quality and on-time delivery, improve process efficiency, and reduce operating costs.
WORKING PROCEDURES:
- Responsible for all operations associated with the quality department
- Coordinate continuous improvement
- Develop, implement and maintain quality management control system to remain in full compliance to meet ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements
- Manage customer audits and recertifications
- Ensures internal audits are completed to evaluate the compliance and efficiency of existing procedures
- Manages the customer interaction and escalates customer quality issues quickly and effectively
- Works closely with the engineering team for customer returns and issues
- Develops and implements quality management system organizational processes, documentation and records
- Work with key customers and sets forth annual plan to achieve quality standards, systems and objectives utilizing appropriate procedures and cost savings methods
- Communicate critical quality issues and initiatives to all levels of management and workforce
- Other duties as assigned
- Manage 3rd Party Quality Service Contracts including DPA per Military Standards (Destructive Physical Analysis) including guiding supplier through test and inspection standard. Other services include Failure Analysis and Shock & Environmental Test services for customer qualifications.
- Understand Reliability in terms of Mean Time to Failure and Mean Time Between Failures for electronic systems.
- Ability to benchmark Quality & Training systems for implementation
- Knowledge of AI, machine vision inspection and automated inspection technologies are a plus.

- Supervises quality team
- Works closely with engineering
- Escalates critical quality issues to Chief Operating Officer, Vice President and Director of Operations
