Job description
The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) is in search of hard working, highly motivated individuals to join our team for the 2023 National Western Stock Show.
Who We Are
Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s.
What We Do
Our Receptionist works under the direction of our Office Manager to complete a variety of tasks. Regular duties will include things like answering phones and directing calls, sorting mail & signing for packages, preparing meeting packets, and maintaining the reception area, storage supply closet, and meeting spaces. Additional duties may include updating the NW Member Database, assisting the Office Manager with Member projects and communications, and participating in the planning, set-up, and carrying out of a variety of events hosted for National Western Members, our Board of Directors, and employees.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a seasonal position for the month of January 2023.
What You Need
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer service and administrative work. This individual is highly organized, proactive, and reliable.
To thrive in this position, the Receptionist must be someone who can manage multiple tasks and customers at once with a high degree of detail, all while maintaining a calm, professional, and positive demeanor. Superior written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Candidates should be comfortable with working indoors, outside in all weather conditions, and around animals. While this position is primarily stationed at the Reception Desk, it is likely there will be situations in which the Receptionist is required to stand for long periods of time or walk far distances throughout the Complex.
Scheduling flexibility is a must – Office Attendants may need to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends, up to 12 hours per day. Candidates must be available to work the majority of the 16 days of the Stock Show (January 7th – January 22nd).
All job offers are contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check. Candidates must be 18 or older to apply.
