POSITION OVERVIEW

The Regional Utility Fleet Manager is responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, estimating, and selling of transmission, substation and distribution fleet vehicles.

DISTRICT OVERVIEW

Kiewit Equipment Services (KES) helps to ensure the profitability of Kiewit projects through the improved equipment utilization and mechanical reliability by delivering world-class equipment and service.

LOCATION

This position will be based out of Lenexa, KS, or one of our other satellite offices and typically requires 60% travel across the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead utility fleet selection activities, including proper application, supplier support, and required preventive maintenance and inspections
  • Manage ongoing utility fleet preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure the highest levels of safety, reliability, and lowest overall lifecycle ownership and operating costs
  • Support regional estimating activities to ensure proper utility fleet selection and associated costs
  • Manage utility fleet mobilization and demobilization activities to ensure projects needs are met timely and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations (USDOT, OSHA, Environmental, Other)
  • Ensure compliance with all Corporate and District policies
  • Actively participate in employee recruiting, training, development, and retention activities
  • Work directly with project teams to continually improve utility fleet operations
  • Develop and implement required training and standard operating procedures for utility fleet operators and supervisors
  • Manage utility fleet utilization to ensure the highest level of performance and continuous improvement
  • Monitor current and future utility fleet needs
  • Effectively communicate current and future utility fleet needs with Kiewit Power Delivery Fleet Director to ensure availabilities
  • Monitor new utility fleet and technology offerings to ensure leading-edge implementation
  • Effectively utilize all Kiewit Management System tools (SAP, P2P, Telematics UI, Reporting, Other)
  • Proven experience and understanding of the electrical transmission and distribution market and associated fleet requirements
  • Proven experience leading teams of 10+ employees over a broad geography
  • Proven leadership skills accompanied by efficiency in time management
  • Proven record of employee training and development
  • Excellent communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to travel to construction sites and satellite offices as needed.
  • 8+ years of senior-level management experience of a transmission and delivery fleet, including, but not limited to procurement, life cycle management, ongoing preventive maintenance, compliance and related technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (years of experience may be considered to substitute)
  • 60% travel requirement from the regional office to project sites

Base Compensation: $119,646 - $179,469
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
