Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our OR (Circulator Nurse) team!
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Operating Room RN is responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period in the operating room. The RN will assess the patient’s needs, physiologically as well as emotionally, and plan nursing care accordingly. This role focuses on providing quality patient care through familiarity with and adherence to policies and procedures, and standards of practice for perioperative nursing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSOBILITIES:
- Performs the perioperative nursing role, including preoperative assessment of the patient, nursing care plan formulation, operative care plan implementation, and postoperative evaluation of the patient’s response/outcome. Also evaluates and documents the effectiveness and appropriateness of nursing care provided.
- Responsible for intra-operative patient safety related to positioning activities, the use of equipment, maintaining sterile integrity of the suite, and the use of medications and chemicals in the OR suite.
- Follows AORN standards of care and hospital policies and procedures in the operating room and central supply environments
- Performs on call duties for emergency surgeries after duty hours and weekends on a rotating basis.
- Maintains professional competency through appropriate continuing education.
- Provides support to Pre-op and PACU teams and other teams as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
- CNOR certification preferred
- Operating room experience preferred
- Basic Computer Skills Required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Can adapt to rapidly changing workloads due to changes in the surgery census.
