Description/ Position Responsibilities
Lindahl Reed is hiring a Renewable/Alternative Energy Systems Engineer to support federal clients in Arlington, VA.
Functions as the subject matter expert for evaluation and implementation of renewable energy (e.g. solar power, wind, geothermal, hydro, biomass) project opportunities.
Functions as the subject matter expert for evaluation and implementation of alternative energy project opportunities involving natural gas or CHP technologies.
Provides engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements.
Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
Performs risk assessments and analyses employing modeling and simulation techniques.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience with design and specification of multiple large-scale renewable energy projects utilizing one or more of the following technologies: solar power, wind, geothermal, hydro, biomass, or technologies and projects.
  • Experience with design and specification of multiple large-scale ( >10 MW) alternative energy projects, such as a gas turbines or reciprocating engines.
  • Experience conducting site investigations to ensure complete awareness of energy infrastructure, energy load and assessment of potential threats and vulnerabilities to energy assets.
  • Experience assessing condition of energy infrastructure, such as age, quality, quantity and vulnerability.
  • Experience collaborating with customers to identify the critical systems and determine critical load.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to promote a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Security clearance (interim, secret, top-secret).
  • Requires 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Should possess a Professional Engineering License.
