FMG is seeking a highly organized, intelligent, and motivated researcher to support research to inform a national campaign supporting the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with its response to COVID-19. This researcher will contribute to the design, execution, analysis, and reporting of social-psychological, health behavior, and communication studies employing a variety of methodologies. This job is best suited for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with team members and clients, consistently strives to learn and improve, and wants to use research to make an impact.
Responsibilities include:
- Helping prepare questionnaires, survey item trackers, and other study documentation with an eye to detail.
- Applying a variety of analysis types from fields such as statistics, survey methodology, and/or other social science disciplines (e.g., univariate analyses, ANOVA, regression).
- Interpreting study results to identify patterns and solutions.
- Contributing to research reports and presentation decks summarizing research methods, findings, and implications.
- Conducting literature reviews and environmental scans.
- Coordinating with project team on a day-to-day basis and working under tight deadlines to fulfill client requests.
- Balancing roles and responsibilities across multiple concurrent studies and/or tasks.
- Anticipating potential barriers to project completion and proposing solutions to team leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communication, public health, social science, or related field.
- Minimum of two years of academic or professional research experience.
- Proficiency working with and interpreting data in at least one quantitative statistical analysis software package (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work well with others, as well as independently under minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques to present data in different forms.
