Shift: 7:30am-4:00pm
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
- This position will support the Affordable Housing locations of Oak Ridge (Grand Rapids), Harvest Way (Sparta), and River Grove (Belmont)

Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs interior and exterior work involved in the repair, general maintenance, housekeeping, and remodeling of buildings and rooms in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our community, and as may be directed by the Community Manager or Executive Director of Affordable Housing to assure that the communities are maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.
Duties will include performing interior and exterior work involved in the repair, general maintenance, housekeeping and remodeling of buildings and rooms. This may include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, painting, etc. in accordance with established procedures. Will also perform housekeeping tasks to keep building and common areas are sanitary and tidy which will include vacuuming, washing windows, mopping floors, and other related tasks. Managing schedule and priorities to ensure work is performed timely. Establishes and maintain a preventive maintenance program.
Skills and Knowledge
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public.
- Function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with older adults, personnel, and support organizations
- Must be knowledgeable of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as building codes and safety regulations.
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
- Must possess the ability to plan and carry out programs in repair, new construction, and equipment installation.

Required Qualifications
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

In addition, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or agreement to participate in weekly Covid testing and/or approved exemption is required.
