As a full-service home care and hospice agency providing a broad range of services to our customers, we are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Respiratory Therapist to be part of our Rapid Response Team helping clients who suffer from COPD. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Restoring patient's pulmonary function and alleviating discomfort
• Meeting patient's goals through assessment of pulmonary function tests
• Determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription
• Operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Performing bronchopulmonary drainage and assisting with breathing exercises
• Monitoring physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes
• Directing treatments given by aides, technicians and assistants.
• Completing discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers
• Designing home exercise programs and instructing patients, families, and caregivers by recommending outpatient follow-up programs and providing assistive equipment
• Charting patient care services
• Maintaining patient confidence and protecting confidential health information
• Adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
• Ensuring proper operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and calling for repairs.
• Maintaining professional and technical knowledge with continuing education
• Complying with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements

Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree
• Minimum 2+ years experience preferred
• Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist strongly preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Respectful bedside manner
• Physiological knowledge
• Infection control awareness
• Excellent verbal communication
