REPORTS TO: Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

Job Summary: Manages and directs all day-to-day activities related to Safety and Risk for Evara Health and the employees including tracking and trending of occurrence reports, addressing patient feedback, handling of subpoenas, and risk management training. Coordinates the collection, evaluation and dissemination of data related to the safety program and develops programs and processes for risk mitigation. Maintains records/documents according to organizational, state, and federal protocols.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Risk Management

• Monitors and evaluates patient care activities to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Generates and/or coordinates the development of various reports regarding risk including trends, high volume, high risk and outcome data
• Develops, plans, coordinates and presents specific trainings and educational programs as appropriate to the risk management needs of the organization or employee
• Collaborates with employee health nurse and HR to monitor employee exposure incidents with appropriate action
• Reports on risk management activities in designated committees and via regular communication with CMO, CEO and Quality Improvement team; follows-up on recommendations and corrective actions and documents all actions
• Infection Control Plan Manager- directly oversees activities involving patients and staff
• Contributes to the development of the annual safety/risk management goals and objectives for Evara Health
• Responsible for the coordination of health center risk management activities and other associated activities
• Reviews and analyzes patient feedback forms, addresses and resolves patient grievances
• Responsible for ensuring an effective and efficient subpoena handling process
• Completes annual risk management training; ensures organizational risk management training is completed annually
• Reviews all Risk Management reports and potential litigations
• Strict adherence to all Evara Health, HIPAA, HRSA, State, Federal and accreditation agency rules and regulations

FTCA Claims Management

• Serves as FTCA Claims point of contact; manages and processes all FTCA claims-related activities
• Responsible for mitigating all FTCA claims following all established regulations and requirements
• Cooperates with all requests, investigations, and directions of HHS, Office of the General Counsel, General Law Division and with all FTCA Health Center Policies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Registered Nurse, or equivalent knowledge and experience relevant to essential duties and responsibilities of the position

LICENSES, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION: Active and unencumbered RN License in the State of Florida; Current BLS Certification
