Onyx Behavioral Care in Atco NJ, is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, and strives to provide safe and affordable housing for adults with a mental illness. Onyx caters to adult ambulatory residents who do not need skilled nursing care, but who do need some oversight in their day-to-day affairs.

Most Onyx residents are able to perform activities of daily living with minimal assistance from our caring staff, which encourages all residents to be as independent as possible.

Onyx Behavioral Care staff are truly dedicated to the well-being of all our residents, and are encouraged by management to:

• Empower our residents to be as independent as possible, and to live up to their full potential
• Help with management of all medical care including specialists in order to maintain optimal health
• Assist with assessment of social and mental health needs in order to guide the residents to local services to serve their needs and interests

We are seeking a part time qualified RN to work one day per week to provide services at our Atco location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate minor medical and psychiatric services
• Administer prescribed injection medication to consumers as scheduled
• Perform PPD, flu vaccines, etc. to consumers as needed
• See consumers with minor medical complaints, make recommendations and follow up
• Order, schedule and complete paperwork for ancillary services as needed
• Call in necessary refill prescriptions to pharmacies
• Monitor consumer vital signs; assess for changes
• Provide medication education to consumers
• Conduct annual AIMS to consumers
• Maintain and update medical records and logs
• Participate in program assessment and development

Requirements

• Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing (bachelor’s degree preferred)
• New Jersey Nursing License in good standing required
• Computer literate
• Excellent communication skills; oral, written and reading
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
• Ability to prioritize, working on several cases simultaneously
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work independently
