SAGE Veterinary Centers is a network of veterinary hospitals known for outstanding emergency and specialty care on the West Coast and beyond. Our new hospital in the heart of the Mission District proudly serves the community as the only Emergency and Critical Care veterinary hospital in the city of San Francisco.
As part of the Emergency team, you will triage and assist with emergency stabilization, diagnostics, & treatments. Emergency nurses work directly with doctors and clients to advocate for their patients and provide lifesaving care. This is a fast-paced department that sees an array of cases including traumatic injuries, toxicities, seizures, respiratory distress and more.

Registered Veterinary Technicians or experienced
Veterinary Assistants to join our
Emergency team! There are opportunities to support more than one department if you are someone who likes to learn new things and stay busy! You will be

ambition will be rewarded. Entry level Veterinary Assistants are also encouraged to apply. If you can take direction and have a great work ethic, we are happy to train you!
Basic Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
- Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
