As a Digital Health Sales Engineer, you will collaborate with our Digital Health Sales team to communicate, educate, and demonstrate Alcon’s Digital Health solutions by providing technical acumen throughout the sales cycle. This role will be key to understanding a customer’s ecosystem and conveying how Alcon’s integrated solutions can create value through improved workflows, increased efficiency, and better customer outcomes. Customers will include external and internal customers throughout the 50 US states and any unincorporated territory of the United States. Position will continuously work with a team of Sales, Clinical, Field Services and Technical personnel in the direct support Alcon technology solutions. Candidate may be required to assist Clinical Education, Service, Sales and where applicable. In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Sales teams (with varying degrees of technical knowledge) to help architect and deliver integrated digital solutions by providing technical acumen throughout the sales process
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers; help clients solve problems with installed equipment; and synthesize use cases observed in the field into feature development requests
  • Communication with customers and key stakeholders, with specific focus on active listening; information gathering; and context-setting for the practical application of integrated solutions
  • Ensure process execution, seeing orders (deals) through to installation while liaising with key stakeholders to ensure optimal customer outcomes
  • Partnering with product development and marketing teams to ensure that customer needs/values are incorporated into product design, branding, and marketing approaches
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong understanding of communication technologies, connectivity requirements, and applicable security protocols, to include:
    • Health information technology (HL7, FHIR, DICOM)
    • Digital workflows (EHR)
    • Cloud solutions
    • Networking
  • Demonstrated track record in highly cross-functional environments, with emphases on collaboration, coordination, and communication
  • Experience supporting healthcare clients with customer agreements - HIPAA, HITECH, network, security, data and privacy concerns
  • Ability to excel in a competitive sales environment, supporting consultative sales processes throughout the sales lifecycle
