Job Summary:

The Sales Manager recruits new Loan Officers for the Branch and is directly in charge of coaching and supporting these Loan Officers in order to meet their sales objectives and goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Produce loans according to targets as set by Branch Manager.
  • Recruit Loan Officers according to targets as set by the Branch Manager.
  • Plan, organize, direct and control the retail sales staff to maximize their potential as Company Loan Officers.
  • Produce/Originate loan transactions for Sales Managers own personal production.
  • Recruit new Loan Officers to work under the Sales Manager.
  • Support the retail sales staff by answering scenario questions, problem solving, file structure possibilities and help with pipeline management.
  • Research company product availability and company guideline changes.
  • Conduct monthly sales meetings with the retail sales staff including but not limited to loan programs, lenders requirements, pipeline management and how to effectively use the loan origination system.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with processing and underwriting departments.
  • Coaching, counseling, supporting and motivating his/her retail sales team in order to help them meet their sales objectives and goals.
  • Constructively handle (or supervise the handling of) customer or Loan Officer complaints regarding any loan transactions.
  • Able to comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the Company handbook
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises Loan Officers that were recruited by the Sales Manager to be part of the team, alongside the Branch Manager.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • The knowledge of the principles and theories
  • Three (3) years prior management experience
  • Experience in the mortgage industry preferred
  • Ability to deliver effective results
  • Must be a currently licensed Mortgage Loan Officer
  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers license and current automotive insurance
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Excellent service skills
  • Timely communication and response times according to department standards

Physical/Sensory Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
  • Bend, stoop and stretch as needed
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing and or ambulating (Employee has some control over the length of time)
  • Prolonged use of computers, telephone, and other standard office equipment which includes reading, writing, listening or speaking
  • Fluency in English language (written, oral, spoken); fluency in a second language desirable
