Innovating at the intersection of media, marketing, and technology, WRAL Digital is the division of Capitol Broadcasting Company responsible for managing the portfolio of websites and mobile apps for the largest local news brand and audience in North Carolina (including WRAL.com, HighSchoolOT.com, WRAL TechWire, the WRAL News App and the WRAL Weather App). WRAL Digital also oversees the company's connected TV apps, email newsletters, and is home to Capitol B Creative Studios.

The Digital Sales Manager will report directly to the Vice President of WRAL Digital and be responsible for overseeing the monetization or our core digital products and services. They will collaborate directly with other department heads to ensure that we provide the best experience for both our clients and staff. Core Responsibilities:
- Directly manage the WRAL Digital sales team.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Drive sales accountability through structured performance management, pipeline management, CRM usage and accurate forecasting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to attract, develop and retain top sales talent (sellers, coordinators & strategists), and build a culture where they can succeed.
- Build a continuous training curriculum to ensure that sales talent diligently follows our processes and stays on top of new sales and industry trends. This includes a rigorous focus on achieving controllable sales activities that set sellers up for success.
- Stay on top of industry trends and anticipate the needs of our clients. If there are business opportunities we need to explore, proactively explore them.
- Effectively communicate with company’s senior leadership on digital sales performance by providing accurate and timely forecasting.
- Participate in and commit to fostering a culture of collaboration and candor with management team while pursuing best-in-class digital advertising sales, operations, and pre and post-sale execution.
- Demonstrate a capacity to lead and coach sales teams to recognize, close, fulfill, and renew high-value digital advertising relationships at the key account level (min. $36,000 annually).
- Work nimbly within a constantly innovating sales organization to test new practices, forge new partnerships, experiment with new prospecting methods and product packaging, and more.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in sales leadership with a proven track record of driving revenue growth.
- Proven track record of individual success in business development, sales or fundraising.
- Experience crafting and executing plans to land, upsell, and retain high-value projects.
- Demonstrated success leading complex projects toward desired results in a team-based environment.
- Experience working in a setting with SDRs and/or BDRs.
- Leadership experience in media, advertising, or marketing tech sales.
- Strong forecasting skills and CRM knowledge (we use Matrix).
- Strong verbal, written communication, and listening skills; strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Extremely detail oriented.
- The ability to give and receive feedback internally and externally in a constructive and respectful way.
