Achieve new sales penetration and growth and develop business for national and regionally-based Prepared Foods Processors (“assigned customers”) in a specific geography. Build collaborative relationships across multiple functions in customer organizations in order to ensure attainment of Sabert’s value proposition of being a trusted partner in the areas of delivering value, innovation and sustainability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business development and sales activities
  • Achieve revenue growth and profitability goals for the assigned customers and geography
  • Manage the sales, customer support and service issues for assigned customers; serve as the primary Sabert contact for all business needs
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying and implementing initiatives to add value for the assigned customers
  • Understand, plan and implement a Total Cost of Ownership program at key accounts
  • Utilize Sabert’s Earth Telligent sustainability platform as a key differentiator from competition
  • Prepare and implement annual business plans for each key existing and targeted customer
  • Champion customer and market needs internally at Sabert
  • Develop proposals and drive customer specific custom new product initiatives
  • Implement pricing and margin improvement as appropriate
  • Develop new business via identifying and developing new customers in the geography

Administrative activities

  • Provide accurate forecasts for volumes and revenue
  • Maintain and update appropriate databases and sales support systems relative to account activity, pricing, new product development, etc.
  • Provide written and verbal updates on sales activity and competitive activity in the geography

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability and willingness to travel for prospecting and calling on customers in the assigned region (up to 75% travel)
  • Significant experience in the food packaging, food manufacturing or similar industry
  • Understand the need to and possess the ability to create meaningful relationships across multiple functions within our customers organizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to navigate through complex and difficult selling situations
  • Persuasive style with demonstrated strong “closing” skills with the added ability to build long term customer relationships
  • Proactive work style with the energy and passion for results and the desire to make a difference
  • Highly motivated; a self-starter
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong project management and project coordination skills
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills
