Purpose of Role: The School-Age Lead Teacher for Play Pals Daycare is passionate about providing a warm, safe and nurturing environment for children aged 6-12 years old to thrive. They are concerned with ensuring that children receive abundant attention as an extension of the care received from their primary caregivers.

Reports To: Daycare Administrator

Oversees: Classroom Assistant

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision in a safe environment by maintaining an orderly and clean facility
• Select age-appropriate developmental materials for the classroom
• Implement provided curriculum in a manner that supports creativity and learning
• Oversee Assistant Teachers of the School Age Summer Program, providing training and development opportunities
• Follow Ohio state rules and regulations with regards to School-Age classroom operation
• Inform staff and parents of curriculum by posting schedules and daily activities
• Maintain open communication and a classroom newsletter, including sharing child's progress with parents

Additional Responsibilities:

• File incident reports as needed
• Attend training and development opportunities

Skills and Attributes:

• Bachelor’s in Education
• 3+ years of experience within teaching
• Active First Aid and CPR certification
• Nurturing: Love of working with children
• Strong observation skills and developed intuition
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly area
• Abundance of patience and self control
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time with an ability to adapt as required
• Self-motivated with ability to supervise others
• Understanding of privacy and confidentiality
• Clear communication to children and adults, including conflict resolution skills
• Humility: A team player

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour
