Marblehead Public Schools is seeking a school psychologist to be based at Glover School, a PK-Grade 3 school serving approximately 350 students. Candidates will engage in professional and ethical practice in accordance with federal, state, and local policies and regulations. School psychologists are members of the Marblehead Education Association; salary is in accordance with the collectively bargained agreement. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Support Student Learning: Administer, score, and interpret psychoeducational assessmentsIntegrate assessment data into comprehensive reports to support the special education team processUtilize data and professional knowledge to collaborate in developing recommendations for student intervention and IEPsDemonstrate strong interpersonal and consultation skills in order to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and familiesConduct observations and utilize data to assist in planning effective educational strategies for all studentsPromote Mental Health and Positive Behavior: Provide individual and small group counseling servicesPromote positive student communication, social skills, and peer relationshipsRespond to immediate student needs through de-escalation techniques, safety assessment, and/or crisis managementSupport social-emotional learning efforts, including positive behavioral interventions and supportsCreate Positive School Climate: Participate in school-based teams including pre-referral teams, RTI/MTSS, school crisis team, etc.Demonstrates sensitivity and skills needed to work with families, students, and staff from diverse cultures and backgroundsUse professional knowledge and evidence-based research to assist in developing school-wide programming and improvement plansStrengthen Family-School Partnerships: Partner with parents and guardians to support student progress, and ensure all families can effectively engage with the school communityConnect families with community services and collaborate with outside providersAny other duties as assigned by the Principal and Director of Student Services.
