- The mission of the Colorado School Safety Resource Center (CSSRC) is to assist educators, students, parents, emergency responders, and community organizations to create safe and positive school environments for all Colorado students in pre k-12 and higher education schools.
- The Center assists schools in preventing, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from all types of emergencies and crisis situations.
- The Center provides resources, training, and technical assistance to foster safe, positive, and successful learning environments where early intervention occurs to prevent crisis situations. This includes, but is not limited to a resource website, providing regional conferences and training in school safety issues, and a newsletter
- The Center works with an advisory board, including various representatives, such as the Department of Education, the Department of Public Health and Environment, the Department of Behavioral Health, and law enforcement agencies.
Hybrid with some office and some remote possible
Travel may be required during work hours throughout Colorado .
Occasional overnight travel 3-5 times a year throughout Colorado;
May operate CDPS vehicles occasionally.
DUTIES
Identifies, acquires, creates and distributes school safety resources, training resources, grant resources, and other materials on a regular basis, including use of software, website, multi-media, and newsletters.
Plans regional trainings including the annual Safe Schools Summit, organizes all agreements with outside vendors and coordinates the details for each training event.
Prepares online training courses by negotiating with in-house and outside developers, writing the technical functions for the course after content preparation by staff, and tracking and assisting in the progress of the work until successfully completed.
Works with the entire staff to help gather and analyze data and find appropriate means to report data. This includes data for the annual Legislative Report, monthly analytics on the website, online courses, registrations for upcoming trainings and any other data necessary to highlight the work of the Center.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)
The position is posted at two levels for career pathing opportunity: entry and experienced.
Positions being filled at two levels for training and career pathing purposes
1. Administrator II Level, FLSA Non-exempt, pay range $46,296-$67,740
Five years of professional experience that included a combination of technology development, implementation and technical support.
OR
Advanced degree in any field.
2. Administrator III Level, FLSA Exempt, pay range $ 53,484-$78,276
Six years of professional experience that included a combination of technology development, implementation and technical support.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any field and two years of professional experience that included a combination of technology development, implementation and technical support.
OR
Advanced degree in any field and one year of professional experience that included a combination of technology development, implementation and technical support.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience creating online training.
Event planning experience.
Experience creating content that follows Plain Language Guidelines
Experience incorporating production of alternatives (e.g., captions, image descriptions) into content authoring
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires successful completion of a background investigation that includes a polygraph exam, a fingerprint based criminal history search and a reference check.
Valid Colorado Driver's License. Travel to assist with Regional Trainings is required each year.
Ability to lift boxes of up to 50 lbs. of resources.
