Mersana Therapeutics is looking for a dynamic Scientist/Sr. Scientist to join our growing Translational Medicine team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to craft, conduct, and analyze fit-for-purpose laboratory experiments with a focus on Immuno-Oncology, in support of the Translational/Clinical Biomarker strategies. You will also be actively involved in the development, implementation, and execution of Translational/Clinical Biomarker plans to inform patient stratification/selection, pharmacodynamics, and mechanisms of action to advance Mersana’s clinical pipeline.

You will form close partnerships with various groups across both discovery research and clinical development to drive scientific and technological innovation. You will also have the opportunity to learn from a dedicated team of research scientists about the unique activities of our research molecules and clinical candidates, as well as learning from an experienced team of clinical development colleagues about all aspects of ADC drug development.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Translational Medicine and you will be an individual contributor on several of our preclinical and clinical ADC projects.

Your experience will allow you to:

• Design, conduct, and analyze fit-for-purpose experiments with a focus on Immuno-Oncology.
• Support the development, implementation, and execution of clinical biomarker strategies to inform patient selection/stratification, pharmacodynamics, and mechanisms of action to advance the clinical pipeline.
• Collaborate effectively with various groups across both discovery research and clinical development.
• Communicate biomarker data in internal and external settings, including publication in high-quality scientific, technical, or medical journals.

The other stuff

This is typically a role best suited for a PhD who possesses 0-3 years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience. The ideal candidate will have:

• A PhD in cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology or related discipline.
• A demonstrated record of scientific leadership as evidenced by first and/or senior authored publications in top-tier journals.
• Outstanding presentation and communication skills.
• Successfully demonstrated initiative, teamwork, collaboration, and technical expertise as an independent and creative scientist.
• Experience in cancer immunotherapy and/or translational/biomarker science is preferred.
