Job description
Under the direction of the Assistant Buildings and Grounds Officer, this position will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning/janitorial, maintenance, and repair projects. Ongoing daily inspections of facilities to identify areas that require cleaning/janitorial and/or repair work will be performed. Examples of daily work would include but not be limited to: moving furniture, rubbish removal, snow removal, distributing mail, changing light bulbs, minor repair projects, assisting vendors, and other work as directed by the supervisor.
Education as may have been gained through graduation from a senior high school or successful completion of the high school equivalency examination. Additional technical training helpful. Candidate must have a working knowledge of general building operation and maintenance activities; a working knowledge of the materials and equipment used in building operation and maintenance; and the ability to work effectively with supervisors, vendors and contractors. Candidate must also be physically able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds and to climb ladders.
