Job description
The position of Parks Department Seasonal Laborer performs duties in an effort to provide ground maintenance and other tasks needed to maintain the City’s Park System.
Expectation of Job Duties
The following examples are meant to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive:
- Assists in ground maintenance such as mowing, weed eating and other lawn care tasks.
- Provides support to other City Utility Departments on an as needed basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 16 years of age.
- Must be able to stand, walk and/or engage in other positional physical movements. Manual dexterity and coordination are required. Must be able to lift or move heavy objects or equipment if needed.
- Must be able to work outside in all seasonal environments.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must be able to naturally focus on the work at hand and have a keen eye and attention to detail in order to produce quality work with few errors.
- Must be conscience of potential hazards on all job sites. Must be safety oriented.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, City officials, and the general public.
- Ability to perform duties independently or with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Experience with the operation of heavy equipment.
