POSITION TITLE: Senior Accounting Analyst II

REPORTS TO: Assistant Controller, Controller, Vice President of Finance

STATUS: Exempt, Hybrid

SALARY RANGE: $72,000-$85,000

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Founded in 1901, Brooklyn Law School is a distinguished, independent law school located in Brooklyn Heights, New York. The Law School is searching for a Senior Accounting Analyst II to support the Vice President of Finance, the Controller, and Assistant Controller on finance-related projects and tasks. • Perform, analyze, review and report on financial monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Ensure Finance is following in-house financial control standards and best practices
• Prepare, manage, monitor, and report on budgets for special programs in accordance with internal & external reporting needs
• Review certain financial data on a quarterly basis and consult with management
• Create financial reports using various reporting systems
• Fulfill banking responsibilities to support day-to-day operations
• Assist with the coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
• Assist with the review process of the payment of invoices
• Project and grant income and Expense Tracking
• Financial oversight of Student Organization Funds

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 2+ years Audit experience with an accounting firm
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Meticulous attention to details
• Aptitude for understanding Information System Structures and building reports
• Robust financial Analytical skills
• Highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets
• Familiarity with QuickBooks
• Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal correspondence
• Experience in Not-for-Profit is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of US GAAP as it relates to Not-for-Profits or Higher Education
