The Senior Accounting Manager will report directly to Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities

• Assist Corporate Controller with management of all accounting operations including A/P, G/L, and revenue recognition.
• Understand the ERP system, foreign exchange impacts, intercompany elimination and consolidation and transactional flow to monitor and ensure accurate financial results.
• Lead efforts to resolve accounting related issues and to implement new accounting processes.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Manage staff in the preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and other relevant schedules.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions and month-end close.
• Reviews accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and GAAP
• Assist in researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP, help prepare memos when needed
• Coordinate with outside auditors and provides needed information for the quarterly and annual external financial and SOX audits.

Qualifications

• CPA required
• Relevant experience preferably in publicly-traded companies
• Have leadership qualities with increasing responsibilities.
• Experience with financial statement preparation
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Experience with various accounting software administration, SAP preferred
• Prior experience in transportation industry preferred.
