Job purpose:

Complete agency-wide behavioral supports (In-home, day, residential and school district(s)).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete service delivery for Behavior Services Department.
  • Supervise assigned Behavior Technicians, student interns and volunteers.
  • Receive supervision from the Vice President of Behavioral Services.
  • Facilitate the development of assessments, behavioral plans, and clinical supports for individuals served.
  • Drive personal vehicle to various in-home settings to complete service delivery.
  • Complete intakes, maintain accurate individual records, plans and data collection according to agency standards.
  • Maintain open communication with funders and other providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all DDS, PRC, and HRC standards for behavioral interventions.
  • Monitor appropriate implementation of behavioral plans and accompanying data collection results.
  • Act as primary liaison to area school systems, funding sources, psychiatrists, psychologists and other rehabilitation behaviorists.
  • Ensure that documentation and files are maintained according to agency, ICF, PRC and other funding source standards.
  • Seek and obtain alternative funding streams to include autism waiver and private insurance.
  • Chair the Behavior Review and Behavior Plan-Human Rights Review Committee.
  • Apply for and obtain insurance vendor number and obtain contracts throughout the year.
  • Provide physical intervention with individuals served that may include lifting, first aid, safety evacuations and crisis intervention.
  • Utilize person centered planning for all programmatic decisions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Behavior Analyst Licensure in Connecticut.
  • Knowledge of community experience opportunities and supported employment programs for persons with severe disabilities.
  • Two years of behavioral program experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and must maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • You are required to be in possession of a car on site during your entire shift to transport yourself and/or individuals served to community sites in all weather conditions and throughout all neighborhoods.
  • Depending upon assignment, must be able to work in a variety of settings, weather conditions and locations.
  • Must maintain PMT and CPR certifications.
  • Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office and the internet.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Communicate clearly in oral and written form on a constant basis.
  • Work independently; utilize good judgment and possess a strong sense of initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion

Physical Requirements:

  • Move weights up to 5 lbs. on a continuous basis and up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Have physical endurance to use physical crisis intervention techniques which may include restraining individuals.
