Senior Clerical Assistant
Job description
Apply today to be a Clerical Assistant 2 for the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System. The duties of this position involve operational support to internal agency business units, Executive Staff and Legal Office.
This position fields, disperses, and monitors all incoming agency communications. You will be responsible for the front door entrance, shared staff calendars, office supplies/stationery inventory, and for organizing incoming and outgoing mail.
Duties involve preliminary interview or examination of inquiry to determine service needed, such as, but not limited to: beneficiary changes, excess interest allocation, municipal ordinances, resolutions or agreements, or minimum municipal obligation. You will communicate routinely with municipalities, boroughs, and members. When appropriate, you will research and verify benefit and payroll information via the agency pension data base, and provides forms and documents, as requested.
The Incumbent is responsible for processing of work assigned to the Operations unit on behalf of agency business units. Processing work includes but is not limited to: processing of quarterly reports which requires calculation and verification, retirement calculation reports, Act 44 and Act 205 responses, certificates of benefits, and new member enrollments to new retirees and corresponding municipalities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time with 2 days a week in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: New hires to the Commonwealth will start at the starting rate.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
