The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Communications Manager, Infectious Diseases and Vaccines, to be located on site in our Leiden, NL or Spring House, PA, USA office.

We seek to make a positive impact on health for humanity. The Senior Manager is responsible for handling day-to-day communications activities. Working as part of a team supporting the Infectious Disease & Vaccines Global Therapeutic Area Communications Leader, to provide world-class communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supports Global Communication Leaders in providing world-class communication support
• Acts independently in the delivery of on-market and pipeline product support activities, in a rapidly growing TA
• Independently drives communication and stakeholder activation strategies for key areas of focus (e.g. HIV)
• Acquires and applies knowledge to develop business, competitive and industry priorities to strengthen product business and reputation outcomes.
• Lead communication projects, material development and event organization
• Handles media relations including speaker preparation and statements
• Proactive monitoring and preparation for product and TA issues that may impact stakeholder trust and company reputation
• Align with the regional businesses, supply chain and corporate functions
• Independently lead and implement engaging internal and site communications
• Develop and apply outstanding written and multimedia communications in a variety of styles and formats
• Help ensure R&D Communications team delivers on business needs and strengthens the communications function

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

Required:

• 7+ years of communications experience in a company, NGO, government agency or public relations agency
• Proven track record of successful, independent execution of public relations/communications, corporate communication, science communication, product communication, social media, public affairs, and/or media relations strategies
• Global perspective with direct experience of leading on international projects, issues and teams
• Ability to build and influence partners
• Strong written skills
• Strong experience in crisis and issues management
• Ability to manage priorities in fast-paced, environment
• Exercise excellent judgment at all times

Preferred:

• Knowledge of R&D processes and the pharmaceutical industry

Other:

• Position may require domestic and international travel
