The Senior Development Scientist for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for hands-on participation in the design and development of new processes and products on our Research & Development team.
This position is part of the Lumigen subsidiary located in Southfield, MI and will be On-site . At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Lumigen Research & Development team and report to the Sr Manager, Development Science responsible for managing the R&D function at Lumigen. If you thrive in a highly technical, multi-functional role and want to work to build a world-class R&D organization—read on.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Work as part of a diverse team of dedicated individuals
Work with cross-functional teams on highly complex problems
Participate in the design and development of innovative new processes and products
Execute and document laboratory experiments
Analyze and report experimental results to a multifunctional, multisite project team
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor of Science degree in Organic Chemistry or related Chemistry field with 5+ years of relevant experience OR Master of Science degree in same fields with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Doctoral degree in same fields with 0+ years of relevant experience
Experience with general organic chemistry research techniques
Experience using MS Office software
Demonstrated problem-solving and data analysis skills
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience with scientific instrumentations and statistical software
Knowledge of bioanalytical techniques and applications
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that embraces agility and flexibility
