Summary:
In this role you will collaborate with various Vizient member groups to identify and create clinical resources for a variety of topics to support and meet member and internal needs. You will assist with the development of clinical communications, research projects, and pharmacy formulary management, including evaluation of drug utilization trends and selection of therapeutic alternatives. You will assist with maintaining the clinical library, website, and development of scalable clinical resources. You will work closely with internal pharmacists and members to assist with facilitation of member council, conferences, and task forces.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor drug development pipeline and medical literature; Identify significant environmental changes due to new drug approvals, losses of exclusivity, regulatory revisions, legal decisions, or other factors and project the clinical and economic impact on member organizations.
  • Review pharmacy market information, including spend and drug utilization trends to develop appropriate strategies for cost containment, clinical management, and population health outcomes.
  • Serve as a clinical knowledge expert for internal team and external members. Perform internal and customer need assessments and generate clinical and drug class reviews.
  • Collaborate on research projects and develop proposals for research projects.
  • Establish strong relationships with peers and members of current network. Ensure stakeholders understand where and how to access pharmacy program offerings (e.g., contract catalog, reporting, clinical web site, communications, peer-to-peer meetings).
  • Monitor, review, and update existing projects and contracts based on market changes (e.g., new drugs, new research findings, new policy); may contribute to new projects and contracts that produce strategic and market insights, best practices, and deliver value for stakeholders.
  • Enhance existing product specific tools and approaches to increase contract visibility and utilization; may partake in the development of new tools and approaches in partnership with others.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure project and contract alignment to stakeholder needs and market competitiveness.
  • Respond to routine stakeholder questions, escalating for response as needed.
  • Generate new pharmacy program opportunities that address stakeholder needs; Collaborate appropriate representatives to assist as needed.
  • Update forecasts and revenue projections for existing programs based on pharmaceutical market changes.
  • Supervise undergraduate Pharm.D. students and pharmacy residents during clinical-based rotations.
Qualifications:
  • Pharmacy degree required. PharmD is preferred.
  • 5 or more years hands-on pharmacy experience required.
  • Previous experience in a managed care pharmacy setting or PBM environment (or related experience) with focus in specialty preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Completion of a pharmacy practice residency or similar pharmacy practice experience.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment or as an individual contributor.
  • Strong analytics and project management abilities.
  • Experience with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities.
    Recognition or certification by the pharmacy profession (eg, BCPS or BCACP).
  • Pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes training.
  • Advanced knowledge Microsoft (Proficient with Excel Spreadsheets).
  • Willingness to travel

Estimated Hiring Range:
$117,600.00 - $175,050.00
