Responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and repairing machinery and building systems as needed in a timely manner.

Essential Functions

• Possess specialized skills including, electrical, controls systems, HMI and PLC troubleshooting and installation.
• Knowledge of control system components and ability to identify upgrades or compatible components when needed.
• Working knowledge of PLC ladder logic.
• Ability to install and program VFD drives as well as an understanding of appropriate parameter settings.
• Working knowledge of servo motors, controllers is a definite plus.
• Ensure that facility disruption due to equipment failure is kept to a minimum.
• Uses root-cause problem solving tools to develop corrective action plans.
• Performs administrative tasks to support maintenance record keeping in proprietary inventory control system.
• Works with outside contractors and specialized equipment manufacturers, as necessary.
• Performs other maintenance related tasks including mechanical and PM tasks.
• Clean up worksite locations in the shop and production floor when repairs are complete.
• Participates in safety training, advanced skills training, and cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
• Ensures work is completed using appropriate safety guidelines.

Working knowledge of electrical and controls

• Ability to handle complex repairs with minimal supervision, with an ability to train others
• 5+ years experience as a Maintenance Technician
• 3+ years of troubleshooting and repair experience with controls and automated equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical codes.
• Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Prior experience with robotics is a plus.
• High Speed packaging experience is a plus
• Preferred Education – AS Engineering or equivalent experience
