JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Engineer works closely with R&D and the manufacturing team to release manufacturing processes for new products and to support sustaining engineering for existing products and processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures • Establishes and maintains relationships with key plant personnel to achieve initiatives • Lead capital projects to help safely deliver plant objectives and goals • Ensure that new products are released on schedule with robust processes and acceptance testing methodologies that achieve cost objectives • Support the installation and maintenance of equipment in the production area • Develop the preventive maintenance procedures for the equipment in the manufacturing area • Create and execute production layouts that are efficient, and flexible • Design necessary equipment, fixtures, and tooling required to manufacture, assemble and inspect products at component and final assembly • Supports existing products with problem solving and continuous improvement of cost and quality objectives • Writes detailed manufacturing process development protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) that document and control processes that meet product requirements • Trains the manufacturing team on new product and process methods and changes to existing product procedures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to lead/work with others in cross functional teams • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • History of successful project management accomplishments leading cross functional teams • Ability to provide technical leadership in ambiguous situations • Excellent communication (written and verbal), team leadership, and interpersonal skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
The employee should have the following: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience • 1 – 2 years' experience in functional role
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to: • Prolong standing or in stationary position • Complete repetitive movements such as typing • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable • Complete repetitive movements • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection) • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions This is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
