Senior Fixed Income Analyst - Remote or Hybrid
Job description
As a Senior Fixed Income Analyst on our Structured Product Team, you will be part of an active trading desk and bring your RMBS, CLO and/or ABS experience to contribute investment opportunities to investment portfolios. You will collaborate closely with a team of portfolio managers, traders and analysts to provide timely updates and communicate your outlook and relative value assessments within your sector.
This includes being responsible for conducting research and analysis on residential mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, and collateralized loan obligations. In addition, you’ll develop financial models, and provide research insights and detailed buy, sell and hold recommendations to support portfolio managers in making informed investment decisions. The Senior Fixed Income Analyst will also maintain credit rating and outlook of current holdings.
How you’ll spend your time:
- Independently conduct fundamental research, surveillance and analysis on ABS, CLO and Non-Agency RMBS sectors. Collect, distribute, and analyze market information using a variety of tools and databases such as Bloomberg, Intex, and Excel to identify critical data for decision-making. Perform statistical analysis, analyze collateral quality metrics and cash flow distributions to formulate recommendations. Familiar with factors that could affect portfolio’s including, but not limited to changes to financial regulation, NRSRO/NAIC methodology and ratings, capital requirements, political and economic environment and any fundamental and technical changes to the securitized product market. Provide responses to inquiries from marketing, RFP, product management, distribution and clients. Act as spokesperson for the research function in client update meetings and internal committees. Publish sector updates and assist teams in producing weekly, monthly, and quarterly research publications. Prepare presentation/marketing materials on an ad-hoc basis.
- Communicate opinions of relative value in the securitized products market sector. Stay abreast of relevant news events. Provide insights to portfolio managers and senior management as appropriate. Proactively develop and foster relationships with industry contacts (e.g. Wall Street analysts) to ensure constant flow of information and holistic view of opportunities and risks.
- The collaborative nature of our team emphasizes in-depth discussions and sharing of information across collateral types. Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Bachelor's degree in business field (i.e. finance, accounting, economics)
- 3+ years' work experience with fixed income strategies
- Strong understanding of economic theory, global financial markets and fixed income products
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively research, compile and analyze information, apply reasoning and exhibit sound decision making related to credit, risk and valuation
- Proficiency with Intex, Excel or Bloomberg, preparing financial models, investment memoranda, and other necessary analysis
Preferred skills:
- 3+ years experience with Consumer Asset-Backed (ABS), Residential Mortgage-Backed (RMBS) or Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) securities
- MBA and CFA designation (or progress towards)
- Strong abilities in the areas of communication (verbal and written), time management, analytics, financial modeling, and influencing
- Collaborative, able to build and maintain strong relationships, manage expectations, attend to details, multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Keen sense of curiosity and open-minded thought process

Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
