Position Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter

Department: Human Resources

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

Job Description:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter will be part of the HR team responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of the human resources department assisting in a variety of Human Resources functions, tasks and projects. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to develop and implement recruiting plans and strategies designed to fulfill company staffing needs, and also oversee Worker’s Comp claims administration. This position requires an individual who is skilled in human resources practices and demonstrates effective communications with individuals at all levels within the organization. This position requires high attention to detail and the candidate must be capable of maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment

  • Under the direction of the Director of HR, develop and implement direct hire recruiting plans and strategies to help fulfill the company staffing needs.
  • Assist in sourcing/recruitment process for a variety of company openings including screenings and phone interviews. Work closely with HR Team and Operations Managers to stay informed of open orders per location, work slowdowns, etc.
  • Work with HR Team to coordinate the On-Boarding process and ensure that pre-employment process is completed for incoming candidates. Assist as needed with processing the background verifications, preparing offer letters, assisting with employee new-hire orientations for processing of new hire paperwork, and communicating with other departments as needed for the new employee. (IT, payroll, etc.)
  • Assist as needed with the daily processing of all aspects of temporary staffing orders for employees upon request from location Manager/Supervisor. This includes but is not limited to placing orders with staffing agencies, verifying orders are filled in a timely manner, verifying employee arrivals with Manager, and internal communication to other team members.

Workers Compensation Administration

  • Work with the Safety Manager/team and HR team in the administration of the Worker’s Compensation claims program after accident investigations are completed. Function as backup with accident investigations and OSHA log maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure timely administration of all WC Claims and actively monitor their status to include full interactive process with employees who have claims, oversight of carrier action-needed compliance and clinic action-needed compliance to reduce employee lost time.
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings.

General Human Resources

  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Assist and advise in the enforcement of these policies and procedures as needed to help ensure current employment law compliance.
  • Assists with Employee Relations Issues/Investigations under direction of Director of HR.
  • Assist with and communicate company benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, COBRA, and the voluntary plans) with employees and carriers as needed.
  • Assist HR Team with planning and rollout of Annual Benefits Open Enrollment process.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of annual Employee Health Fair, Biometric Screenings, Wellness seminars/events under direction of Director of HR.
  • Assist with all HR Department trainings and events.
  • Member of Activities Committee and assists team with planning of company employee activities (i.e.: quarterly potlucks, monthly treats for employees, etc.)
  • Cross-train in/ learn for backup purposes (as time permits): I-9 compliance, FMLA/LOA process for employees on leave, processing weekly staffing agency payroll, employment verification calls and inquiries, auditing/0processing of weekly service labor invoices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, or other related discipline strongly preferred. PHR is a plus, but not required.
  • 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience with demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources, along with current employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Word & Excel, ADP and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and a self-motivated team player.
  • Ability to apply sound business practices and make decisions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,078.99 - $75,005.45 per year
