Our event production team plays a critical role in the production success of the various events in our venues, which include Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul RiverCentre, and Roy Wilkins Auditorium. This team works with production equipment, union labor, and outside production companies to ensure the technical elements (staging, lighting, audio, video) are set up, operated, and struck. The Senior Manager of Production is responsible for the successful event operations of the department, through leadership of full time and part time employees, equipment management, payroll administration, and communication to external and internal parties.
As our Senior Manager of Production Administration, YOU WILL:

• Oversee the effective operation of your department. The production department relies on you to ensure the day to day functionality of the department. This includes administrative duties, personnel responsibilities, event support, equipment management, and developing strong working relationships internally and externally. Flexibility will be key as your supervision hours may vary day to day. Your ability to understand the union contract agreement and work collaboratively with the Local 13 team is critical.
• Take care of the important details. No two days are the same and you understand that careful coordination of timing, equipment, and people are what keeps your department humming. You ensure that our full time Stage Technicians are scheduled accordingly, and union labor calls for part time IATSE members are placed and fulfilled. You carefully compile labor reports, manage onsite hiring paperwork, and ensure payroll requests are submitted accurately and timely.
• Lead effectively. Frequent change in the event industry and part time labor force makes your leadership role a critical one for providing clarity, direction and stability to your team. In this role, you will be responsible for building community amongst the full-time team, communicating effectively to full time and part time employees, providing training opportunities, navigating through challenges when they arise, and overall supervision, coaching and discipline.
• Take care of our tools. Production equipment is always evolving and you stay on top of industry trends to make sure we are exploring new options to be at our best and meet our client’s expectations. You also know the importance of taking care of what we own and manage inventory, maintenance, storage, and ordering of some of our key assets.
• Provide top notch customer service. Our Stage Technicians are one of many operational departments in our organization. The key to your success does not solely rely on your technical abilities, but also in the way that you deliver service and respond to situations, both with your teammates, other departments and outside vendors and customers. Ensuring a positive, professional and speedy response is not a nice to have, it is the expectation.

• Ability and flexibility to work unusual shifts including weekends and occasional holidays.
• This position requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending.
• This position may be required to work in loud and noisy environments, as well as dark, dim and bright environments, which may include rapidly changing lighting levels, strobe effects, and other effects related to lighting fixtures, pyro effects, etc.
