Position: Senior.NET Architect
Location: Malden, MA
Job Description:
- We are seeking a Senior.NET Architect to add to our application development/support team who will be responsible for developing new code and supporting existing code hosted across the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and the Department of Higher Education (DHE) website properties.
- The ideal candidate can work in all tiers of the architecture and has experience with ASP.NET using both VB.Net and C#/MVC, Bootstrap, JavaScript frameworks/libraries, Oracle/SQL Server and multi-tiered applications.
- They will also have experience in all phases of software development design, development, unit test, QA test support and defect remediation.
Responsibilities:
- The Senior.NET Architect is responsible for collaborating with the EOE/DESE/EEC/DHE Organization, Project Managers, Architect, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance, in the process of creating software deliverables and artifacts.
- The Senior.NET Architect will be directly involved with .NET application coding, system debugging, code reviewing, and the development of operational procedures.
- As a member of the team, you must adhere to the organization's methodologies and standards, and propose improvements based on software development best practices.
- Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Solid understanding of design patterns (e.g. MVC)
- Meeting with technology managers to determine application and website requirements.
- Upgrading existing .NET websites and applications.
- Analyzing system requirements and delegating development tasks.
- Proactively raise issues and offer solutions.
- Participate in daily Kanban meeting to discuss current tasks and status.
- Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support
- Submit weekly status reports.
Education and Experience Level:
- 7+ years of experience as a full stack ASP.NET using VB.Net Web Forms and C#/MVC.
- 7+ years of experience hands-on knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle
- 5+ years JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g. Angular JS, Bootstrap and jQuery)
- Knowledge in OO development principles, multi-tier web application design and relational database principles
- 5+ years working with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Experience with accessibility laws and WCAG 2.1 compliance.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with responsive web design/development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
- Experience with legacy EEC applications
- Experience with Standards Navigator
- Excellent written/verbal communication & documentation skills.
- Experience related to K-12 education/curriculum standards would be a plus.
- Experience with cloud solutions/technologies, specifically AWS is also a plus.
- Ability to adjust to changing situations to address emergencies, program changes, or production requirements.
