Senior Plumbing Designer / Engineer
To support our rapid growth, CoolSys Energy Design (CED) is in search of a Senior Plumbing Designer / Engineer to join our team! Our ideal candidate will be able to design commercial plumbing and fire protection systems, maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors, and lead a team of staff to ensure timely and quality deliverables.

In this role, you will:
- Manage, assign/prioritize workloads, and provide leadership to junior engineers performing plumbing system design.
- Assess and anticipate deliverables, prepare budgets and schedules, and communicate resource requirements to senior management.
- Represent CoolSys Energy Design in project meetings covering technical issues, including meetings with utilities, owners, contractors, construction subcontractors, and inspectors.
- Maintain responsible control over all design activities pertaining to the project, including engineering, quality control, and code compliance.
- Perform site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolve design issues during the construction phase.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and work with outside resources to incorporate special hazard systems.
- Document production of small and large projects.
- Participate in conceptual design for specific projects.
- Create and maintain AutoCAD and Revit drawing packages.
- Provide deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, and specifications related to plumbing systems.
- Comply with project schedules, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Ensure work is executed accurately and in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that design calculations and engineering drawings are constructible, comply with code, and meet customer quality requirements and company standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering or construction disciplines are considered based on experience and skill set.
- 10 or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit required.
- Previous experience managing staff is preferred.
- Working knowledge of building codes and NFPA Standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, as well as demonstrated high-quality technical writing skills.
- Team player with sound business ethics and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to achieve project goals and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors to develop a full understanding of building energy systems and their operation.
