Role and Responsibilities include:

Senior Research and Data Scientist in AI and ChemInformatics Solutions will be a key role in shaping up the AI-enabled Drug Discovery (AIDD) project that aims at the total drug discovery solution from design to delivery.

You will work closely with the reaction synthesis automation team to support the link between drug design and drug delivery. You will also work with other scientists to support them in building the key analysis and prediction modules used in SaaS-based drug design solutions employing artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) techniques as well as other algorithmic approaches.

You will be responsible for:
  • Working with reaction and reaction procedure data to build reaction synthesis automation and optimization solutions
  • Curating large chemical reaction datasets and building predictive synthesis models from them
  • Building the computational chemistry engine for drug discovery purposed based on ML/AL and other procedural algorithms
  • Stay up to date on the development in machine-driven drug discovery in publications to improve the existing products based on them
  • Documenting data, data curation, and machine learning model-building processes
  • Working closely with the product team to identify, capture, and supplement their needs in underlying ChemInformatics calculations
  • Analyzing complex problems in AIDD and articulating solution ideas based on ChemInformatics and AI/ML approaches
  • Following an agile development approach to build proofs-of-concept for testing out ideas and core modules, and communicate ideas with the solution team

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • MS in chemistry, cheminformatics, Computer/Data Science or related area
  • Minimum 3 years of direct work experience
  • Practical programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, etc.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good understanding in organic synthesis, reaction mechanism, reaction core extraction, automated retro- and forward-synthesis, high-throughput experimentation, reaction optimization, and other advanced chemistry concepts
  • Excellent working knowledge in ChemInformatics, computational chemistry, and drug-discovery process
  • Familiarity with tools for data science, such as data analysis, data processing, statistics, AI/ML, etc., and be able to use those tools to create working PoC for demonstration purposes, which implies practical and in-depth programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, etc.
  • Experience building AI/ML models for SAR endpoints starting from raw data
  • Familiar with the agile development process
  • Be curious and innovative witha strong desire to revolutionize the drug-discovery process
  • Be an excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Work collaboratively cross functional global teams
