Sushiology a new restaurant to Kennesaw specializing in modern fusion sushi as well as Japanese inspired small bites. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team and be a member of this family. We are a fun, fast paced restaurant that pride ourselves in giving the best guest experience and that starts with having amazing talent on our team.
You’ll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers’ experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we’d like to meet you. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
- Greet and Attend to customers upon entrance of establishment
- Set and Reset table settings at the beginning and during shifts
- Pre-buss tables during shifts
- Restock Plates, Cups, Napkins, etc. when running low throughout shift
- Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
- Be able to retain menu knowledge containing Japanese cuisine and terminology to communicate effectively with customers
- Take and serve orders
- Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products
- Collaborate with other restaurant hosts/servers and kitchen/bar staff
- Assist with running food
- Complete assigned side work at the end of every shift
- Deal with customer complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Issue bills and accept payment
Skills
- Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience
- Hands-on experience in cashier duties
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- Patience and customer-oriented approach
- Sense of responsibility and teamwork
- Sense of leadership
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving
- Work the assigned schedule which may include multiple shifts, weekends and holidays. (Must have open weekend availability)
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
- Responsible and trustworthy
- High school diploma is a plus but not required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
