Become part of our team! We are seeking a Golf Shop Assistant for a private residential community and sporting club unlike any other. This position will require working some holidays and weekends.


JOB SUMMARY:

The Golf Shop Assistant provides a warm and friendly atmosphere in the Pro Shop and offers genuine hospitality while providing a consistently high level of customer service to the Membership and Guests.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS –

  • Maintain a high level of respect and professionalism for staff, members, guests, and the club
  • Understand and enforce all club rules and regulations
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of department events and policies to accurately answer questions.
  • Perform golf shop administrative duties including opening and/or closing procedures, answering phone calls, scheduling golf lessons, and assisting with golf event registrations.
  • Actively promote upcoming golf and merchandise events
  • Proficient in Jonas software and maintain accurate billing of daily golf and merchandise transactions
  • Ensure golf shop cleanliness and display standards are upheld
  • Conduct accurate quarterly inventories ensuring strict adherence to inventory policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all Golf Shop operation supplies are properly stocked and maintained correctly
  • Assist with all open and closing procedures, as scheduled
  • Assist with answering the telephone, book starting times, and assist staff with other duties and responsibilities on a day-to-day basis
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends
  • Regular attendance and timeliness are required
  • May require adjusted work schedules to meet deadlines


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledgeable of the game of golf
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of general office machines and telephone system
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Retail and/or hospitality experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. Must frequently lift and/or move items over 25 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be physically present.
