We are a comprehensive non-profit organization that serves older adults and people with disabilities in King County. Our mission is to partner with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive services so they can age their way.
We are currently seeking a Site Coordinator - Chef to join our Community Dining team at the Shoreline Lake Forest Park Senior Center in Shoreline, WA!
WHAT will I do?
The Site Coordinator - Chef supervises and participates in the preparation and service of nutritious meals. Maintains a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. Provides administrative support for the program.
Pay Rate: $23.50 per hour.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and participate in preparation and service of food; prepare main entrees as directed; anticipate and perform preliminary preparation necessary for next day’s meals.
- Shop for weekly menu and pick-up food donations. Manage budget to stay within the stipend provided by Community Dining.
- Inspect food being prepared to ensure proper quantity, quality, and handling; demonstrate and train employees in cooking, preparing, and handling food.
- Plan, organize and rotate menus and determine amount of food to meet menu requirements; keep records; make reports.
- Lead and participate in the cleaning of the kitchen and equipment; assure that standards of sanitation and safety are met.
- Recruit and manage volunteers and volunteers related tasks.
- Assist with the implementation of nutrition education programs, surveys, and distribution of materials.
- Perform administrative support for the program to achieve efficient use of information, equipment, and resources.
- May perform minor bookkeeping duties; organize and record daily receipts for deposit and ensure proper cash control procedures are followed.
- Coordinate with Senior Center to integrate the meal program with center activities and goals.
- Participate in mandatory program and organizational activities, meetings, and trainings.
Requirements:
You must have:
- High school diploma OR equivalent.
- Valid Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain one.
- Two (2) years of related work or volunteer experience.
- Working experience in a large-scale food service or culinary operation.
- Must be willing to provide full COVID-19 vaccination documentation.
