The Position:

We are looking for a skilled Skilled Construction Laborer to join our growing team in Henrico County, Virginia! As a Tech II for Fabling Built, you will perform a wide range of construction tasks centered around the trade(s) that you specialize in. (i.e., Interior, Exterior, Rough Carpentry, Painting, Flooring, Windows, Doors, Siding, and Roofing) This position will complete the following responsibilities under the supervision of the Foreman and/or Crew Leader:

• Complete a variety of construction task such as demolition, installation, interior/exterior carpentry, and painting.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
• Load and unload building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate location, according to project plans or specifications.
• Prepare a layout area where construction will take place by properly measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances.
• Build scaffolding and other needed construction structures.
• Install windows, doors, trim, and framing by using raw materials or preconstructed items.
• Lay flooring and ensure it is level and installed correctly.
• Take measurements, cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material accordingly.
• Safely operate tools and equipment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
• Conduct repairs or maintenance on machinery, tools, or equipment, as needed; reporting issues or unsafe conditions.
• Clean and prepare jobsites by sweeping, picking up rubble, and disposing of any trash, when needed.
• Keep the Foreman and/or Crew Leader up to date with job status.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Demonstrated skills and/or experience in a building trade required
• Knowledge of renovation and/or remodeling construction
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, hardworking individual with a great positive attitude and work ethic
• Ability to cheerfully work with others and be a team player
• Flexibility to learn and perform other trades, as needed
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to balance between quality and speed and understand the importance of productivity on the job
• Strong organization skills with an attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Ability to travel is a plus; must have a vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record
• Proven ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 80 pounds, working in varying weather conditions, etc.)
