About the opportunity:
Are you ready to help children and families “Build a Brighter Future”? If so, w e have an exciting opportunity as a Skills Trainer in our Waverly Children's Home
- Works under the weekly supervision of the ICTS Clinical Supervisor in the planning, support, implementation and evaluation of skills-specific therapeutic services for youth and families in the school, home and community.
- Provides education, support, direction and modeling of behavior management techniques to adult caregivers in their homes as needed to support client treatment goals.
- Within the guidelines and direction established by the supervisor, oversees and coordinates implementation of the treatment plan in the school, home or community.
- Assists in the coordination of services provided by other professionals as prescribed in the treatment plan.
- Oversees and advises adult caregivers and/or school/community liaisons to ensure that client expectations are consistent with treatment plan goals.
- Consults with team members, agency personnel, community professionals and family members regarding current client issues.
- Model, coach and counsel clients regarding skills as outlined in individual treatment plans as treatment goals through individual skills training, group skills training, family skills training and/or treatment groups.
About You:
- Demonstrated understanding of child development and adolescent treatment principles, models, concepts and theories
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, organize, implement, monitor and evaluate complex projects involving multiple priorities and tasks
- You are mission sensed, seeking meaningful work and career growth.
- Passion to support youth by modeling, coaching, and counseling behaviors.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or a related field or QMHA required.
- Experience: Two (2) full years experience as a direct care worker with at-risk children and youth in a treatment setting .
