This position will be part of a strong team providing software engineering support to design, develop, operate and maintain software programs at the Hanford site. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions.

This Software Engineer position will assist clients in all areas of Power BI support for the development of data reports, dashboards, applications and other pertinent areas as it relates to supporting our customers' Power BI requirements.

The Software Engineer should be able to perform the following, but are not limited to:

• Design and develop reports, dashboards, apps, and other Power BI functionality supporting Hanford customers
• Capture and analyze business requirements from clients on needs for reports, dashboards, applications utilizing the Power BI platform
• Develop complex ETL processes to pull data from multiple source in Power BI warehouses
• Design and create complex reporting solutions and ensure alignment to existing Power BI reporting standards and procedures to ensure consistency across the portfolio. Including:
  • Standard reporting color palettes, fonts, etc.
  • Reporting header and footer standards
  • Dashboard and report layout configurations
  • Effective screen real estate standards
  • Naming conventions
  • Metadata standards
  • Other pertinent standards for an enterprise Power BI deployment.
• The Software Engineer will work with other project software engineers, interface with project managers, and meet with customer subject matter experts as needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a business or technical field (information systems, business administration, computer science, graphics design)
• Demonstrated experience in a traditional data or analytics corporate environment
• Demonstrated understanding of BI and Business Analysis techniques
• Expert knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Cloud Platform and Premium tenant solutions
• Strong knowledge of data structures, data integration, consolidation and integration of data sets
• Ability to work in a multi-task, multi-project development environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment
• Strong customer relationship skills.
• Highly self-motivated and self-directed
• Ability to occasionally work during non-standard business hours.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Team Foundation Server, DevOps and/or the Agile Framework
• Experience mentoring other software engineers
• Familiarity with Hanford Site applications, systems, and infrastructure.
