BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Compliance and Continuous Improvement Specialist manages customer compliance programs, contractor management databases, and government FAR/DFAR representations and certifications. The position drives operational compliance, conducts audits, and implements process improvements for risk reduction, compliance, and other operational initiatives.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Operational Compliance Programs to support customer related compliance requirements as it relates to internal process and procedures.
- Work cross functionally to support internal audit responses in support of operational contract compliance working cross functionally within Sales, Operations, Legal and Customers.
- Lead cross functionally through department leaders to ensure fulfillment of corrective actions stemming from audit findings.
- Manage the customer required Associate Background check and Drug Screen process to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Manage and lead the Contractor Management Databases program to ensure compliance with customer business engagement requirements.
- Responsible for utilization of compliance related technologies and 3rd party platforms.
- Communicate as necessary with associates, managers of associates, customers, and internal cross functional teams to gain clarity of requirements and determine actions required to fulfill customer compliance requirements.
- Comply with all associate PII confidentiality requirements, FCRA laws and EEOC guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Cross train on all Customer Compliance related programs and support additional programs when necessary.
- Develop, document, and maintain compliance related process information for areas of responsibility (SOPs & process flow charts).
- Develop compliance related metrics, reporting and communication associated with the areas of responsibility.
- Support cross-functional teams in development of their future vision by conducting current, future, and ideal state process analysis
- Partner with the Business to develop performance related metrics and reporting.
- Partner with Business to improve efficiencies in processes through process flow documentation, auditing, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Implements process improvements by developing project plans, reporting status to stakeholders, and following through for benefit realization.
- Participate as a flexible and multi-purpose team player by leading special projects and performing additional duties as required by their manager.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related discipline required. Paralegal certificate preferred.
- Three years’ experience in contract, audit, background checks, or other related compliance programs.
- Three years’ experience in research and application of PII, FCRA, FAR/DFAR laws and regulations, and other legal concepts.
- Three years’ experience applying project management and / or lean concepts.
- Experience in a remote environment preferred.
SKILLS:
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio / Lucid, Project / Smartsheet or similar.
- Ability to interpret a variety of complex documents to determine customer requirements
- Ability to optimize process through current and future state analysis, continuous improvement
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Proficient in lean, six-sigma problem solving techniques
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage to strict deadlines
- Change Management skills a plus
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time may be required.
