The Business Operations Intern will be an integral part of the Business Systems and Field Excellence team. In this role, they will support colleagues across the commercial organization with translating their business goals into digital solutions.

Specific Learning Objectives include:

• Gain a high-level understanding of the rare disease space and the role of Business Operations within the Pharmaceutical industry
• Learn to demonstrate project value to the company through metrics presentations, 1:1 review, etc.
• Learn the life cycle of change implementation in front end enterprise systems (gather business requirements, test, and train)
• Work at the forefront of an accelerated digital environment in the pharmaceutical industry

You will be responsible for:

• Assisting cross-functional marketing colleagues with content creation/conversion to digital
• Iterating on existing business systems via incremental system enhancements/projects that add value to a Commercial pharma organization
• Creating a Business Requirements Document and follow the requested feature through development and execution
• Supporting the development of training materials to create self-sufficiency
• Producing and presenting metrics on project progress from the beginning to the end of the internship period.
• Ad hoc reporting and project assistance as needed

You will need to have:

• This January – June 2023 co-op is being offered to undergraduate students progressing toward a bachelor’s degree in STEM, Business, or a related field.
• Effective communication skills - the ability to accurately convey information and project objectives to different parts of the business, both written and verbal
• Microsoft Office Suite skills - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with coding and/or enterprise systems
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook for meeting scheduling and email management
• Be curious and solutions-oriented - we all roll our sleeves up to get things done at Alexion!
• Be detail oriented
• Take initiative - demonstrate your value through proactive suggestions and creative solutions
• Be Collaborative - Ops is the bridge between the different functions of the business
• Excellent time management
• The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.
