Overview
The Senior Manager is responsible for all facets of leading the Aftermarket Drivetrain business, including; product line growth, innovation, budget and cost goals. This position own’s the development and management of the complete Drivetrain product portfolio. Their direct staff consists of product managers responsible for individual product lines, as well as the Aftermarket Drivetrain field sales team. Their products are sold across a broad customer base that includes original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), OEM dealers, and independent distributors located throughout the United States and Canada.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead their direct and cross-functional teams to innovate and grow current product lines, launch new product lines that complement our current portfolio and capabilities as an organization, including product line depth, breath and full content
- Work through the Product Management organization to achieve savings targets by partnering with the Direct Material Optimization and Purchasing teams
- Analyze and evaluate market trends in order to develop focused, segment-based product and sales strategies to achieve growth targets and projections across all channels of the business
- Manage and continuously measure sales opportunity pipeline throughout all stages for the portfolio
- Develop and manage department budgets and expenses
- Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stake holders to align actions and achieve maximum results
- Lead marketing efforts and collaborate with Marketing Communications in support of strategic product launch and growth efforts
- Engage and lead cross functional team to ensure product launch targets, timelines are quantified, prioritized, communicated and tracked effectively
- Develop and provide analytics and metrics which measure the overall effectiveness of strategic product and sales initiatives to ensure goals and objectives are achieved
- Provides primary pricing strategy / market analysis and guidance to ensure competitive position and accuracy for annual and mid-year price adjustments
- Provide cross functional communication of product, sales and marketing initiatives
- Provide inputs into forecasting, planning, and overall inventory management process, continuously evaluating for optimization opportunities and assist with the elimination of excess, surplus and obsolete inventories across respective product lines
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
- At least 5 years of experience required with responsibilities for business management, product management, marketing, program, project management and a demonstrated track record of success.
- Strongly prefer experience in the specific markets, products, and customers of the Commercial Vehicle and/or Aftermarket Division
- Proven business skills and interpersonal communication, influencing skills required
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Power Point and Excel
- The Aftermarket Organization has the right to deem a person qualified for a position if that person has had one or more years experience in the position or similar position
This position is eligible for Cummins-Meritor’s Incentive Compensation Plan, which offers payouts based on company performance.
