Star City Comics & Games is looking to add a Full-Time Representative to our team!

Full-Time Representatives are responsible for the maintenance of Star City Comics & Games and for presenting our customers with a fun, professional, and family-friendly environment. Full-Time Representatives are responsible for addressing customer needs, tending the register, managing inventory, running in-store events and promotions, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of Star City Comics & Games. Full-Time Representatives are expected to cover evening and/or weekend shifts as needed.

Essential Duties: *

• Provide exceptional customer service for the entirety of each customer’s visit
• Maintain a working knowledge of all product lines, programs, and services offered by Star City Comics & Games.
• Fulfill customer orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Process cash, store credit, and credit card transactions
• Keep products stocked on shelves, clearly labeled, and organized
• Receive, research, and price incoming products
• Prepare for and run events that take place at Star City Comics & Games
• Maintain a fun, safe, clean, and family-friendly environment for all Star City Comics & Games' customers
• Follow proper opening and closing procedures
• Assist other departments as needed, including order fulfillment, card sorting, inventory filing, and minor clerical work

Skills and Qualifications:

• Have 1+ year of customer service experience
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess great attention to detail
• Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual
• Able to work well individually and as a part of a team
• A working knowledge and familiarity with the following product lines is preferred, but not required:
• Board Games
• Trading Card Games such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Flesh and Blood
• Roleplaying Games (RPGs) including Dungeons & Dragons
• Miniature Games including Warhammer 40k
• Comic Books & Graphic Novels
• Pop culture franchises such as Marvel, DC, The Walking Dead, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Transformers, GI Joe, Masters of the Universe, etc.

• Ability to remain polite, composed, and professional with customers at all times
• Ability to remain flexible and accomplish tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Able to relocate to Roanoke, VA
• Familiar with software programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus

Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:

• Regularly required to stand for long periods of time in the course of conducting job duties.

• Frequently must stoop, bend, kneel, reach, and maintain full dexterity while conducting job duties.

• Occasionally must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds for short distances.
• Able to lift 20+ pounds frequently.
• Work environment often has airborne dust particles.
