Job Description
Department: Phantom Fireworks Eastern Region LLC – Iowa & neighboring states; including Nebraska & Wisconsin. Reports To: Internal & Field Operations Manager
Summary
Directs and coordinates activities involved in Iowa area fireworks seasonal and temporary locations operations and sales. Performs the following duties personally, through subordinate employees or independent operators. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Management may assign other duties from time to time. Position is full time, year round, with extended hours required at peak seasonal times of the year.
Fireworks Seasonal and Temporary Locations Operations
● Develop new fireworks seasonal and temporary locations.
● Assist in the growth of existing fireworks seasonal and temporary locations operations.
● Organize logistics and distribution of tents, stands, products and related materials. This may include assisting in the delivery of products to the individual temporary locations following all DOT requirements.
● Recruit temporary locations operators to staff locations.
● During the season visit all stand and temporary locations, assist in management of operations, delivery, resupply, operative support, licensing, etc.
● Train tent and temporary locations operators.
● Maintain records for each seasonal and temporary location under their area of responsibility.
● Complete weekly sales plan to include: Prospects for property and/or operators; daily call schedule, daily mileage report including beginning and ending odometer readings.
● Research and assist the filing and completion of any local permits needed for the operations at a location.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise independent tent and temporary locations operators and groups to ensure they are following company policies and applicable laws. Specific areas of responsibility would include but not be limited to: Inventory Delivery and Control, Bank Deposits, Staffing, Coordination of tent vendor set up and Tear down, Post season evaluation of the locations and return of inventory to the area warehouse. Must supervise locations, not physically run a location. Care needs to be taken to ensure every location has a responsible person/group set up to operate the stand.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work full time year round in the position. In addition, during the peak season and postseason evaluation period they must be able to work extended hours as required to meet the job requirements. Will be on call 24 hours per day during peak season. Must maintain a current valid driver’s license. Must follow all DOT regulations when operating a commercial motor vehicle.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to interact with government offices; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply basic bookkeeping skills to train tent operators in bookkeeping requirements and banking procedures. Able to complete postseason reports. Able to count and balance money and bank reports. Basic computer skills will be required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel), learn Monday.com.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable situations in a quick effective manner where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to remain even-tempered and reasonable at all times will be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will need to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to pass drivers license requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment will consist of indoor home office, field tent operations, warehouse and travel in motor vehicles. Motor vehicle reimbursement or use is to be for business purposes only. Travel to meetings and conventions as requested by Management.
