Your Impact:

Hourly rate is $26.64. This position is located at the Wallops Island Flight Facility Operations and Maintenance Service, NASA Wallops, Wallops Island, VA.

Responsibilities:
Stationary Engineer operates Energy Management Control System terminal, printer, and alarm panel and the emergency trouble desk on second and third shifts, weekends and holidays.

Primary duty is ensuring your personal safety, the safety of co-workers and customers. Must be able to follow all safety rules & procedures. Be willing to work both indoors and outdoors in inclement weather.

Must have a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components.

Essential Functions

Work Environment:
Office environment. (90%)
Travel between facilities and test sites. Some travel between buildings on the base. (10%)

Equipment and Machines:
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.) (80%)
Safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) (50%)

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, stand, twist and sit.
Ability to lift between 35lb and 50lbs with support from a partner

Attendance:
Regular attendance mandatory (100%)
Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (<20%) Travel required («5%)

Other Essential Functions:
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others. The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. Your SPA is a Company provided tool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents, and injuries; as such, it is the most important tool that you are required to use. A valid driver’s license is required.
