TITLE: Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut
Waterford ReStore Manager

REPORTS TO: Executive Director
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Full-Time
SALARY: $19-$22/hour

Primary Role
The ultimate goal of Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate substandard living conditions and homelessness by building safe, adequate housing. The ReStore is a retail business that sells donated building materials, furniture, and appliances at discounted prices to generate revenue to support the affiliate. The ReStore Manager is responsible for the overall business performance of the site with priority responsibilities on acquisition, marketing, and sales of quality donated building materials, planning and execution of an effective and efficient receiving process, and supervision of staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Utilizing Habitat’s existing ReStore operation, sales, and safety guidelines for daily operations, the incumbent will also display strong leadership and team-building skills as he/she is ultimately responsible for all facets of the ReStore.

• Promote donations, drive sales and profits of the ReStore to provide sustainable funding to support the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut.
• Establish and maintain relationships with potential and existing donors.
• Curate a culture that is professional, welcoming, and encouraging to all volunteers; demonstrates an understanding of what motivates volunteers and improves volunteer retention.
• Ability to safely lift and position up to 75 pounds. Job entails occasional bending, kneeling and reaching, often in awkward or tiring positions. Bulk of time will be spent standing, walking and otherwise assisting customers and merchandising the store.
• Must pass a Criminal and Sex Offender background check, and valid Driver License.

• Requires the physical ability to sit, climb a ladder, walk, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. While the offices are smoke-free and temperature controlled, much of the work may be in non-temperature-controlled conditions, including outdoors, year- round.
• The position requires persons to be able to safely lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on an occasional basis and/or to stand up to 6 hours.
