Summer Camp Counselor
Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
Camp Counselors are an essential part of the KidVENTURE team! They are the face and bring the spirit to summer camp! You will be on a team of passionate Camp Counselors. The role is to engage with all campers, teach new games, lead innovative crafts, encourage discovery, and have a summer filled with laughs, adventures and camp songs.
Average hours per week: 10-30
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Employees in this classification work under direct supervision of the
Camp Director (Youth Services Program Specialist)
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all tasks that may be found in positions of this class.)
- Maintain positive relations with campers.
- Responsible for the safety, health and happiness of the campers.
- Assist other counselors in directing and overseeing camper activities.
- Chaperone field trips and outdoor activities (local hikes and pool trips)
- Follow daily schedule of activities by implementing games, crafts, discovery and more.
- Participate in all on-site special day events and guest speakers.
- Oversee snack preparation.
POSSESSION AND MAINTENANCE OF:
- Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice will be required
- Child Abuse Index check
- Tuberculosis Clearance and satisfactory Health Screening
This is a temporary position, with no benefits.
